Your practice's financial coach

Long before Grace Wu Ursery became a human parent she was a pet parent with her first dog tagging along to classes on the UCLA campus. After graduation and short stint in the mutual funds and asset management world, that dog went with her to veterinary technology school at Foothill College where he was the best helper for venipuncture practice. As a California licensed RVT and a VHMA accredited CVPM, she has spent over two decades in veterinary medicine.  From high volume shelter medicine, strip mall to boutique concierge service GPs, 24/7 emergency and critical care treatment floors, multi-specialty medicine ORs, urban to suburban to rural locations, companion and exotics and mixed animal practices; Grace has been involved in the many sizes and shapes of the veterinary profession.

What stands out is her passion for promoting financial literacy and demystifying the numbers for veterinary professionals. By leveraging all the rich data and information already being produced by the practice, owners and team members gain an honest understanding of the health of the business. This allows leaders to make effective strategic decisions. Grace advocates for independent practice owners to build profitability with rewards they can share with their team and gain control over their financial destiny.

As an active member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association, Grace continues to fuel her investment in the future of veterinary medicine. She is currently serving as the chair of the VHMA's Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity Task Force and a member of the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps. A proud and loud UCLA alum and Los Angeles sports fan, she can watch and talk sports and the state of the economy all day every day. On the weekends you'll find her in Long Beach playing beach volleyball or on the soccer pitch cheering on her super striker.
